On the Wild Atlantic Way touring route, Carrig Island is less than 10 miles from Ballybunion, home of the Ballybunion Golf Club. The larger town of Listowel is around a 20 minutes drive, and has several restaurants, traditional Irish pubs, a cinema and a range of museums. The Tarbert to Killimer ferry is around 10 minutes' drive away.
